To estimate your policy score, calculate the average of all drivers on the policy in the following way:
- Open the DriveMyWay app and select the “Family” tab at the bottom of your screen.
- Add up all the listed driving scores of the currently enrolled drivers shown in the app.
- If the policy has insured drivers who never enrolled or opted out prior to the end of the trial period, add their default scores (56 each).
- If the policy has insured drivers who opted out after the end of their trial period, add their last known driving scores.
- Total all scores.
- Divide the total by the number of insured drivers on the policy.
- The resulting value is your estimated policy score.
Calculating your score: pro tip example
You have three drivers on your auto policy. One enrolled and actively participated in DriveMyWay with you, but opted out after the trial period. Their last known driving score was 77. The second driver never enrolled in the program and is automatically assigned a neutral driving score of 56. Your driving score is 83.
Your policy score would be calculated in the following way:
- Add all driving scores.
- 56 + 83 + 77 = 216
- Divide the total driving scores by the number of drivers.
- 216/3 = 72
- Your estimated policy score is 72.

*DriveMyWay plans and discounts may vary by state. Rate will vary based on driving behavior. Unsafe driving behaviors may increase your rate. Products, pricing, and availability vary based on the way you purchase insurance and by state, vehicle type, policy form and company underwriting the auto policy. Some restrictions may apply. The DriveMyWay rate factor applies only to these coverages, which are typical for most auto policies: bodily injury liability, property damage liability, collision and comprehensive, medical expense and personal injury protection. Additionally, the rate factor does not apply to fixed fees that are part of the policy. Customer driving data from the DriveMyWay and KnowYourDrive program were used to inform rate structure. If you choose to unenroll anytime after the trial period ends, we’ll use your latest program score when calculating your rate at future renewals.
